Hot Rolling Mill Plant

Duo hot rolling mill for steel plate, with process control and optimisation system developed entirely by LZ Automazioni. At the heart of the system is Laminus, a proprietary artificial intelligence software dedicated to the optimal management of the rolling process.

At each pass, Laminus acquires in real time the surface temperature and cross-section of the plate, processing the data to calculate the optimal gap between the work rolls. The adaptive logic significantly reduces the number of passes required, with direct benefits on energy consumption, motor forces and mechanical wear.

The plant integrates a high-pressure water descaling system, essential for ensuring the surface quality of the finished product. The production cycle is managed in direct interface with the work order generation system, guaranteeing complete process traceability and full integration with company management systems.

Laminus has been integrated since 2026 and is currently in the advanced advisory phase. The system has already successfully completed its first autonomous operations: upon completion of the training phase, it will be operational for fully automatic management of the rolling cycle.
