Automation system for an electrolytic chrome plating plant for steel bars, with automatic management of two robotic bridges for loading and unloading the plating tanks. The plant manages 18 chrome plating positions, 2 degreasing and 4 washing positions, controlling times, currents and sequences autonomously according to configured work cards.

The software architecture is event-driven: each bridge movement is triggered by processing completion events from the tanks, queued and assigned to the two bridges based on their current work index. When a rack enters a tank, the system manages current converters, regulates values, executes anodic reversals and controls current ramp-up. Double-layer chrome plating is supported for high thicknesses.

Racks are fully configurable: 2-3 pins for large-diameter bars, up to 15 positions for smaller diameters. The system tracks each rack and pin individually, notifying operators when maintenance cycles are due. All parameters of each individual cycle are recorded to guarantee complete traceability and quality control for every bar processed.
